Durcissement de l'Acier 1.8159 (51CrV4)

Austénitisation

Le processus d'austénitisation de l'acier 1.8159 consiste à chauffer à 850–870°C (1560-1600°F) et à maintenir à la température définie pendant un temps spécifié, à partir du moment où l'acier atteint une température uniforme.

Directives pratiques pour l'austénitisation :

Plus la lame est épaisse, plus elle doit rester longtemps dans le four.
Laisser l'acier dans le four trop longtemps peut conduire à une croissance des grains ; un temps trop court entraîne une austénitisation incomplète (transformation microstructurale incomplète). En termes simples : à la bonne température, laisser l'acier dans le four un peu plus longtemps fait généralement moins de mal que de le sortir trop tôt. La plus grande erreur est d'utiliser une température d'austénitisation incorrecte.

Trempe

Après austénitisation, l'acier 1.8159 est refroidi rapidement. Média de trempe : air ou huile.

Le revenu est le réchauffage contrôlé d'une lame durcie à une température choisie et maintenue pendant un temps déterminé pour réduire la fragilité et les tensions résultant du durcissement et augmenter la ténacité à l'impact du couteau.
