Our Origins
Company IK STAL was born out of a passion for steel and over 25 years of experience gained while working with companies specializing in tool steel trading and tool manufacturing. This passion led to the founding of our company in late 2018 in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Poland.
We began our journey with two band saws, focusing on cutting and supplying tool and stainless steels to tool manufacturers across Poland.
Expanding into knifemaking steels
It quickly became clear that our expertise and operational flexibility allowed us to serve not only large industrial clients but also supply high-quality steel to knife makers throughout Poland. In April 2020, we launched retail sales of knife steel on Allegro, Poland’s leading online marketplace — and it turned out to be a perfect move.
Interest in our knife steel offering grew so rapidly that we established a dedicated cutting department for retail customers and expanded our machine park with two additional band saws used exclusively for knife steel.
Each year, we continue to expand our product range and work closely with renowned steel manufacturers such as Böhler-Uddeholm, Alleima, Damasteel, Lohmann, and others.
Over time, our products began attracting customers from outside Poland. This inspired us to develop an international online store, which officially launched in 2025.
