Wide range of carbon and tool steels
Our offer includes, for example, carbon steel, which is the most popular type of steel used to make knives. Its specific properties make it the choice of many of our knifemaking customers. Tool steel is perfectly suited for cold working, which makes it very easy to process. As a result, it can be handled very easily by both advanced knifemakers and beginners. The raw material is also relatively inexpensive and has a very high error threshold (it is extremely resistant to mistakes), so it is an ideal material for people just starting out making knives. The carbon steel available in our range is primarily used for the production of everyday use knives, the so-called EDC Knives. Furthermore, IK Stal also offers a wide range of stainless steel grades , Take a look at the details!
Carbon steel grades available in our range
Our carbon steel range is very broad. It contains many grades of this raw material, which are ideal for the production of various types of knives, including non-corrosive Damascus steel. These are materials that can be processed and hardened extremely easily, making them suitable even for novice knifemakers. Among the tool steels we offer, you can find Böhler K110, Uddeholm VANADIS 4 EXTRA, Uddeholm SLEIPNER and 1.2360M. We also offer NCV1 (80CrV2) steel, which is the most popular steel among knife manufacturers. It has excellent hardness and cutting properties. It is also characterised by considerable ductility and is easy to heat treat.
